Culvert
Overview
Hoyoung's Culvert rotation follows a standard 90s burst into 180s burst cycle. While no specific rotations have been published yet utilizing Crisis HM / Risk Taker, this is an open opportunity for players to experiment and optimize new strategies.
Historically, Weapon Jump 4 (WJ4) or Continuous 4 (Cont4) were used alongside Ring of Restraint 4 (RoR4) for the final burst. The WJ4 vs. Cont4 debate remains ongoing, but with the slight nerf to Last Resort, some players—including myself (@GaugeStory)—lean towards Cont4 for consistency.
Understanding Culvert Testing Limitations
While a basic rotation is provided, we do not claim it to be the absolute best. Culvert testing is time-intensive and comes with various constraints:
Challenges in Optimizing Culvert
Limited time & attempts – Extensive testing requires significant in-game commitment.
Ring availability – Not all players have access to all optimal Oz rings.
Execution & Fatal Strike volatility – Precision in timing and execution greatly impact results.
Competitive secrecy – Some optimizations may remain undisclosed due to Punch King strategies.
We encourage contributions! If you discover better rotations, we are always open to discussions and adjustments.
Recent Post-Ride or Die Adjustments
Dec 2024 Updated!
You can now extend Grandis Goddess Blessing uptime during the opening 90s burst by activating the skill at 00:08s into the BA.
If using a CD hat, you can achieve slightly more uptime.
These minor optimizations contribute to higher damage output and efficiency within Culvert attempts.
Final Thoughts
Culvert testing is an ongoing effort, and no single rotation is guaranteed to be optimal. However, by refining strategies, testing different ring combinations, and accounting for post-patch changes, Hoyoung players can push for higher rankings.
🚀 If you find a better rotation, share your results! Community-driven optimizations are invaluable to maximizing Hoyoung's potential in Culvert.
