# Understanding the Hoyoung Gauge
The Hoyoung Gauge consists of 4 separate elements
1. Attribute Orbs
2. Talisman Gauge
3. Scroll Gauge
4. Universal Harmony Counter
## Attribute Orbs
Unlocked with Talisman Gauge
Our 3 Attribute Orbs **will appear (lit up) on our gauge by default**. Using a corresponding Attribute Skill **will consume** the orb and generate Talisman and Scroll Gauge. This element has important interactions with  [**Sage: Three Paths Apparition**](/knowledge-base/bossing/three-paths-apparition.md)
**Attribute Skills**:
> Humanity

> Earth

> Heaven
When an **Attribute Orb is consumed, it is known as Stage 1**. When subsequent Orbs are consumed, this changes to Stage 2 and **finally Stage 3 Combo when all 3 Attribute Orbs have been consumed**. The Attribute Orbs will then **reset** and all Orbs will appear again. When Stage 3 is achieved, it will trigger **Balanced Breath** and restore 3% of Max HP and MP.
##  Talisman Gauge
Unlocked in 1st Job
Talisman Gauge is generated **slowly** when using Attribute skills. A single Talisman Skill can be used each time the Talisman Gauge fills.

> Seeking Ghost Flame
##  Scroll Gauge
Unlocked in 3rd Job
Scroll Gauge is generated **slowly** when using Attribute skills and **significantly when using Talisman skills**. A single Scroll Skill can be used each time the Scroll Gauge fills.
**Scroll Skills**:
> Degeneration
>
> Butterfly Dream
>
> Star Vortex
## Universal Harmony Counter
Unlocked with 6th Job 1st Mastery
Each time **Stage 3 Combo** is reached, the **Counter** will increase by 1. When the **Counter** reaches 3 it will reset and the next or will be HEXA Enhanced. After using a HEXA Enhanced Attribute Skill, grants **Universal Harmony** buff (5-10% FD)
