Apparition is a V skill with both a passive and active effect, designed to automate Hoyoung’s element management and provide cooldown resets for key skills.
To understand how Apparition works, you will need a firm understanding of how the Hoyoung Gauge and the Attribute Orbs work. If you are unsure, please read before reading this guide.
The passive component performs an unique attribute attack every 5 seconds (if you're actively hitting)
This attribute attack consumes an Attribute Orb; meaning, it performs an attack of an attribute (Humanity, Earth or Heaven) that you haven't yet performed yourself.
Passive Apparition essentially completes Combo Stages for you, granting you Universal Harmony uptime when you are not bursting and when you are grinding.
For 30 seconds, the passive effect is enhanced:
Special attack cooldown is reduced to 2 seconds.
If more than 1 skill is currently on cooldown, Apparition will reset 1 random skill.
During the first season of Punch King, Shulk tested different ways to optimize Cudgel uptime. Through extensive trials, he discovered that structured skill alternation led to the highest damage output.
This insight laid the groundwork for the modern Apparition burst strategy, where ensuring Cudgel resets and maintaining FD bonuses became core principles of Hoyoung's optimal damage rotation.
Why? This setup ensures maximum Cudgel resets while maintaining elemental switches for FD bonuses.

When a Combo Stage is completed, one of the attribute cooldown skills , or whichever is currently on cooldown, will have it's cooldown reset (it will be immediately available to use).
